Learning my lesson

1 12 2010

NEVER AGAIN!!  I will NOT go over a week without working out.  I am sore all over.  It is to the point where I am thinking about icing down my knees.  I don’t think I hurt this bad even when I started working out.  Lesson learned.

I heard one of my old favorite songs today and it just got me right to the core on how I am feeling about a certain person.  Alabama by Cross Canadian Ragweed.  It is really hard right now not to pick up the phone and call.  I have nothing to say to him really, just want to say hi but I am holding off.  I keep telling myself just to get finished with school and then next weekend pursue this and see what is there.  But it is so hard.  Funny but the thought of seeing him again is what pushes me through my workouts.  Just getting that much more back to my old self before we see each other again is what makes me go that extra mile.

Well, I guess it will all work out the way it is supposed to like always.  Until then, this image relaxes me.  One of my favorite places and one of my favorite times of the day.  Three more weeks and I can go back.

My Favorite Time of the Year

5 07 2010

It hit me like the boom of the fireworks last night.  I LOVE the 4th o July!  I think it is my favorite holiday.  Crazy talk when you think there is no big huge food feast, no presents, and no “season” so to speak.  But, I love the fact that it is a fun holiday.  One you can spend with friend and family and just laugh and enjoy the day.  One where we all as Americans get to celebrate something that unites us; where we can celebrate the continued success of the great experiment called democracy.  As a US history and government buff, I am in absolute heaven.  The only sad part of the day for me was that I wasn’t in DC this year to sit by the Washington monument and sit with my jaw dropped at the amazing fireworks.  But the next best thing was sitting out on my front porch and being able to see not one, but four shows going on as well as individuals setting off fireworks.  At one point it literally looked like fireworks going off all across the horizon in perfect harmony.

I am already planning what to do for next 4th of July!!

Wedding – Santa Fe, March 2010

WARNING:  These are not the “touched up” photos and this is NOT me.  This is a good friend of mine who recently got married and I was honored to be able to go.  They hired a photographer and let us just say it wasn’t a good experience.  These people jacked up the price after the fact and to be honest, the pictures were not that good.  So she decided to ask all of the guest for their pictures and make her own album out of that.  These were three of my contributions to the mix:  I am going to touch them up a little and get them enlarged and framed out for her belated wedding present.
